Terms and Conditions for Parents Using Lightning Kids Cab also known as “LKC".

Welcome to Lightning Kids Cab! By using our service, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for you and your children.
General Information
Lightning Kids Cab provides transportation services for children to and from school. Our mission is to ensure safe, reliable, and friendly transportation tailored for families with a need.
Scope of Services
Transportation for children to and from school, extracurricular activities, and other approved locations.
Real-time tracking of rides for parents via our mobile application.
Reservations and Bookings
Creating an Account- To use our service, you must create an account with accurate information, including your name, contact details, and your child’s information. You can do this via our app or our website.
Booking a Ride- Bookings can be made via our mobile app or website. Please ensure that all requested ride details are accurate (pickup location, drop-off location, time, etc.).
Reservations should be made at least 24 hours in advance. Confirmation will be made immediately. You will have the option to be waitlisted for unavailable seats. You will receive a push notification should those seats come available on any of your requested days.
All rides are based on available and not guarenteed until confirmation is provided.
Availability- Ride availability may vary based on location and time. We recommend booking in advance to secure transportation for your child.
We are currently servicing select New Braunfels schools and expect to expand rapidly as a demand increases.
Schedule Changes
If parents need to make changes to their child’s schedule, we kindly ask that you do so before 6pm the day before. Last-minute adjustments can affect not only your child’s ride but also all other riders scheduled for that day. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping schedules consistent to maintain a smooth operation for everyone involved.
Payment Policy
Payment Methods- Payments can be made via credit/debit/ACH through the app. Cancelations must be received in writing per to info@lightningkidscab.com. Cancelation Policy. All transactions are processed securely. Payments are run on Friday for the following week. Failed payments will be rerun on Monday. If payment is not received by 5pm on Monday, riders subscription will be paused immediately. Please call our office at 830-400-kids or go to the parent portal on the app or website to make your payment. If payment is no three days if payment has not been received, seat will be relinquished to next in wait list and a $25.00 reinstatement fee will apply, seats then become space available.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Refunds- There are no refunds for cancelations of already scheduled rides.
Schedule changes-
Cancelation of Service- Due to our high demand we ask for a 3 day notification to drop service. If notice isn’t given by 5pm on Fridays, billing for the following week will take place and no refunds or credits will be given once payment has been authorized.
School Holidays- Lightning Kids Cab provides automatic proration of fees for school work days and school closures.
Vacation Days- If you will not be riding for 10 consecutive days Lightning Kids Cab allows you to freeze your membership and keep your seat. At the end of 10 days your subscription will automatically restart. Call billing will continue to occur on the regularly scheduled Friday.
Incomplete or failed payments must be made by Monday at 5 PM or seat will be relinquished.
If you need to be gone more than 10 consecutive days you can either (a.) pay a 25% seat fee after day 10 through day 20 or (b.) drop and reregister, space available. Reregistration is subject to the $49 registration fee. Seats will be relinquished automatically on day 21.

This policy helps us manage our resources effectively and ensures that all families relying on our service can do so without disruption.
Safety Protocols
Driver Screening- All drivers undergo thorough background checks and training focused on child safety and care.
Child Safety Seats- Lighting Kids Cab will provide and maintain booster style car seats for riders ina ccordance with The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). Drivers will assist with securing the seat as needed.
Emergency Procedures- In case of an emergency during transport, drivers are trained to follow established safety protocols and will communicate any issues promptly.
Training and Protocols for Drivers
Driver Training- All drivers will be fully vetted and will be provided ongoining training. Drivers will be CPR and FIrst Aid Certified. Drivers will be trained in child seat safety and emergency procedures. Background checks and Drivers History will be obtained. Drivers will have to pass a Drug Screening prior to hire and randomly per company Driver Policy.
Code of Conduct
Children must remain seated and secured for the duration of their ride. Children should be able to safely secure and unsecure themselves. If they cannot however, drivers will assist.
Behavior Expectations- Children are expected to behave respectfully during rides. Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated, and parents may be contacted if issues arise. Multiple disruptions may result in termination of service without warning. No refunds will be issued. Child will be reevaluated after 30 days. Reregistration will be required and is based on space availability.
Electronic Devices- Drivers are not responsible for monitoring devices used by children or their content.
To maintain safety and cleanliness, no eating or drinking will be allowed in the vehicles.
Parent Responsibilities
Supervision-Parents must ensure their child is ready for pickup at the designated time and location. The times may vary depsending on routes and traffic.
Communication- Parents should provide clear instructions regarding drop-off locations and any special needs or considerations for their child. Parents or guardians are responsible for ensuring that the information provided during the booking process is accurate and complete. Any mistakes or omissions in the information provided will not be the liability of Lightning Kids Cab.
Contact Information- Parents must keep their contact information updated in the app to facilitate communication with drivers.
LKC will drop your child off to the address location you provide but it not responsble for them once they leave the van and are either with an adult, or out of sight behind a closed door. Drivers will not escort any children to the door as they cannot leave the van and its other passengers unattended at any time.
Pick-up Procedure-
Drop-off Procedure– Upon arrival at the designated drop-off location, the driver will ensure that the child is safely handed over to an adult at the designated location or watch the child enter the home.
In the event that a drop off cannot be completed for any reason ie (a.) adult is not present or (b.) child is unable to gain entry to the home, the follwing procedures will be followed in this order:
– Parent and Emergency Contact will be contacted
– Parent will be given the opportunity to meet at next drop off
– Child will continue on route until the end of the day
– Child will be escorted to the police station until a parent can be reached and
and pick up is arranged.
Note- Drivers cannot wait between stops.
Transfer of Responsibility– Once the child has been handed over to the responsible adult or has entered the designated location and is out of sight, Lightning Kids Cab’s responsibility for the child’s safety ends. Lightning Kids Cab will not be liable for any occurrences or incidents that happen after the child has been dropped off and is no longer supervised by our driver.
Drop-off Confirmation-The parent or guardian will receive a push notification upon arrival at the drop-off location to confirm the end of the ride and responsiblity if they have opted in to notifications through the portal.
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Times
While we strive to arrive at schools on time, please note that pick-up and drop-off times are not guaranteed due to varying traffic conditions and other unforeseen factors. Our main goal is always to ensure we get your children to school safely and punctually.
Technology Solutions
GPS Tracking and Alerts- Lightning Kids Cab utilizes GPS tracking for rides, allowing parents to track their child’s ride in real-time. Notifications can be sent when the driver is arriving and when the drop-off has been completed.
CCTV- Lightning Kids cab provides parents with an in cab (van) video system allowing parents the opportunity to monitor their child through a closed curcuit secure system. Through our app, parents will have temporary access to live CCTV camera feeds during pick-up and drop-off times. This allows you to visually confirm that your child is safely entering or exiting the vehicle. Once your child has been successfully checked off as dropped off, the cameras will automatically turn off, ensuring privacy and security. Though we will do out best to maintain the system in working order, LKC is not responsible for faults in the system that interupt parent access to this system at any given tiime for any duration of time.
Fallback Mechanisms-
In the event of temporary disruptions in real-time tracking, we can provide estimates based on previous routes and patterns, ensuring parents have access to useful information even if live data isn’t available.
User Support-
Reliable Customer Support- A dedicated support team will be available to assist parents with any issues that arise, providing timely responses and solutions.
Incident Reporting- LKC as implemented a reporting system for drivers to document any unusual occurrences during the rides or unauthorized pickup attempts, so there is a record of any issues that arise.
In-App Features- Our propriatary app can be used for bookings, payments, updates and notification settings, changes.
Secure Messaging- A built-in secure messaging feature can allow real-time communication between parents, drivers, and authorized adults. This ensures everyone is in sync about the drop-off process.
Enhanced GPS Tracking
Real Time Tracking- Parents can monitor the ride in real-time through GPS tracking in the app. This visibility reassures parents that their child is in a safe environment.
Geofencing Technology- Lighting Kids Cab uses geofencing around drop-off locations. When the vehicle approaches these locations, automated alerts will be sent to the parents’ phones, notifying them of the vehicle’s anticipated arrival. Parents are able to track vehcile in real time. LKC is not responsible for errors or faults in this system.
Ride History- An accessible ride history can help parents review past trips, including ddrop off and pick up times.
Robust Infrastructure:
Scalable Servers- We will use cloud-based services that allow us to scale resources dynamically based on demand. This ensures that our servers can handle increased traffic during peak times without slowing down.
Regular System Testing:
Stress Testing- Prior to peak periods, we will conduct stress tests to simulate high traffic conditions. This helps identify potential bottlenecks and allows us to address them before they affect users.
Emergency Procedures
Emergency Contacts- Parents are responsible for ding and maintaining a list of emergency contacts that are easily accessible, allowing the driver to quickly reach out for help if needed.
In the event of an accident or emergency, drivers are trained to follow this protocol:
– Ensure the safety of all passengers first.
– Contact emergency services if necessary.
– Notify the company dispatcher immediately.
– Document the incident and gather information from witnesses.
Fleet Maintenance
Vehicles must undergo regular inspections and maintenance per state regulations.
Drivers will perform pre and post trip inspections.
Drivers are responsible for reporting any vehicle issues or accidents immediately.
Digital Authorization
E-signatures and Digital Consent- Parents digital signature and payment serves as consent for minor passenger to ride with Lighting Kids Cab or Delegated company POV during scheduled routes set by parent, guardian or authorized delegate.
Integration with Local Authorities
Lightning Kids Cab has established partnership with local law enforcement. They will aid us in developing protocols for reporting suspicious activities or concerns, allowing for quicker responses if necessary and emergency passenger drop off.
By integrating these technological solutions, Lightning Kids Cab has enhanced its safety measures, provide peace of mind to parents, and create a more secure environment for children during transportation.
Limitations of Liability
Lightning Kids Cab aims to provide safe and reliable transportation services; however, we cannot be held liable for any incidents, injuries or illnesses that occur during transport beyond our control. Parents acknowledge that they are responsible for their child’s safety and well-being while using our service. LKC will not be held liable for any loss or damage to childs personal posessions. By using our services, parents and guardians release Lightning Kids Cab, its employees, contractors, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, or damages arising from any incidents occurring up until after the child has been dropped off at the designated location. LKC is not responsible for errors or faults in any of its vehicles or technology systems. By using our service, parents/guardians acknowledge that they assume all risks associated with transportation.
Modifications to Terms
Lightning Kids Cab reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Notice of significant changes will be communicated through the app or via email. By using our service parents acknowlege these Terms and Conditions.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Texas.
